6 billion dollars seems cheap is my original thought but really it seems like a good amount. Reddit can't really expand a significant amount more(as evidenced by their moves into video) and the monetization is terrible(who wants to buy Reddit premium, or advertise on Reddit?)

Advertising on Reddit is wonderful, but you need to know Reddit pretty well to use it well.

This has to be the number one complaint, been hearing it for literally years. Keep ignoring them, reddit. Someone like Discord will launch a web facing community app and eat your lunch soon!

At some point, free Reddit is going to have to start to suck in order to make money. If they make premium Reddit simply behave the way that current free Reddit does and abandon the silly "awards-based" revenue model, I think they might stand a chance to turn a profit.

Reddit has sucked for years and it doesn’t make money. How anyone can see this funding round as anything but a Ponzi scheme is baffling.

Subscription-based subreddits?

Premium communities where mods are compensated and Reddit takes a cut.
