Reddit likes to think of itself as independent, free and unlike Facebook. I am starting to think this is not true anymore.

I can observe this in myself, how quickly my opinion on something is formed the moment I see the first comment or the headline. Its quite impossible or hard to convince myself that this is the right conclusion/opinion to be made.

I guess I should just accept I am just another monkey

neat. wasn't minecraft acquired for 2B?

> wasn't minecraft acquired for 2B? Yes, but what's your point?

I am juxtaposing 2 distinct acquisitions to provide a reference point for the market value a platform like reddit provides by comparison to a multimedia product and derivative merchandising.

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuddy

6 billion dollars seems cheap is my original thought but really it seems like a good amount. Reddit can't really expand a significant amount more(as evidenced by their moves into video) and the monetization is terrible(who wants to buy Reddit premium, or advertise on Reddit?)
