Earlier quoted context omitted.
Among other things, you're omitting that they beat a police officer to death. I would also be surprised if the only people who felt disturbed by this whole event were "some politicians".
Who was the police officer, and what weapon was used? The only report of an officer down was erroneously attributed to someone beating him with a fire extinguisher. The latest information is that there was no fire extinguisher, but instead he suffered some kind of delayed reaction to a gas canister (fired by the police).

#72im saying this because it seems like such an obvious point but i havent seen it here- why are people who want the government to be replaced by the "free market" allowed to be upset that private companies are silencing them? what is the rationale for squaring this circle

The political scientist and author Frank Wilhoit talked about it in his works:
> Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: there must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

#74Hm, I just posted "stop the steal" on my Facebook page (along with a disclaimer), and it's still there six minutes later. Maybe it takes 24 hours to get picked up? Or do they just cloak the posting?

#75boy, we've taken quite a turn from where we were just a few years ago with conspiracy theories spreading like wild fire regarding Trump and Russia.
it would probably be better to actively engage believers of "Stop the Steal" with facts about the election vs. removing content that they are creating.

#78do they make it country specific - ie. would the posts questioning the integrity of elections in another country, say Russia (not that i personally question it, Vova, mind you, just a hypothetical), be allowed?
Facebook has happily oppressed Palestinian protestors while turning a blind eye to 'calls by Israelis for the killing of Palestinians'. http://www.ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/featured-articles/2... It is obvious now that big tech companies are deep players in political games.

#79Along with this, it seems to me media should not be referring to the terrorists entering the Capitol as 'storming' as that is the terminology used by the fringe groups of which they are proud of. I've read articles mentioning what these fringe groups call 'the storm' and I think distancing media reports from that is important.
Should the media, or anyone, be referring to them as "terrorists"? Generally a terrorist uses extreme violence to "terrorize", hence the name. A crowd of morons busting into the Capitol building, calmly wandering the hallways, and taking selfies, scarcely meets the definition, even if some of the politicians felt terror. If only the 9/11 terrorists, and all terrorists, were this tame.
The mob beat Officer Sicknick to death.
