What’s worse, Reddit disables NSFW/porn content in Incognito on iOS Safari and prompts you to install the app. How that got past Apple is beyond me.

Best of all, it promises it's anonymous if you install the app.

That seems to be both an implausible claim and hard for a user to verify.

>You do not go after women and start a family. I think the people in my local area would consider this a good thing. Even just pursuing platonic friendships with women upsets people so I've stopped talking to women altogether and quit all social media despite having little interest in porn

What are you talking about?

I'm saying people do not like it when I interact with women in the real world so in their view it would be a good thing if porn were to prevent me from doing so

How to open your own video or image hosting site: Step 1: Open the site, have no content, get no clicks Step 2: Pirate everyone else's content Step 3: Start getting clicks due to the pirated content Step 4: Continue to spin the flywheel putting more pirated and "user generated" content on your site Step 5: Start to get more and more legitimate partners Step 6: Start blocking porn and pirated content. The content that…

Spotify also started with a library of pirated content.

I don't have any sympathy for Pornhub here. Their entire business is built on stolen content uploaded by anonymous users, and it wasn't until they hollowed out the rest of the industry through theft that they started looking beyond it. I would go so far as to say that the reason Pornhub and other tube sites haven't taken problems like child porn and revenge porn seriously is because doing so would undermine the found…

With all this talk about various corporations policing copyright, censoring political content, and whatnot, I think it's only a matter of time until someone makes an anonymous blockchain content aggregator that's impossible to censor. Then when it becomes the modern equivalent of Usenet/IRC/Napster/PirateBay, people will just shrug and say "don't blame the protocol". The demand exists and the technology exists, but n…

There's no such thing as 'impossible to censor'. It may eb 'hard to censor', perhaps even 'impractical to censor', but a powerful enough government will be able to censor anything it wants. Do your think that, if people started somehow publishing 'bad' stories about the CCP in the bit coin block chain, the CCP wouldn't act to remove that content or censor any acces to the block chain itself?

Ive watched porn all my life (like most). I dont have a moral vendetta against it. But it seems to be a no-go topic for discussing the serious societal issues from porn. As I've grown older ive realized its really very toxic and probably the most widespread addiction in the US causing real issues. When you watch porn all day or even just a few times per week, your testosterone and hormonal balance as a man changes. Y…

"You do not go after women and start a family." One of the many benefits I have received from porn and sex positivity in general. Imagine thinking you're supposed to "go after" a woman because of some requirement to start a family? Absolutely dystopian.

The OP didn't phrase this elegantly for sure, but the general idea that a life spent alone, consuming pornography all day is unfulfilling should not be controversial, and porn like any addiction / vice can become a trap.

I might be missing something here, but if that kind of stuff really is on Reddit then I would want them to be made to take responsibility for having it on their site and suffer the consequences if it is not removed and reported to the authorities.

i don't think reddit is hosting underage porn, and im sure there is some subreddit somewhere that has questionable content (the same as there is copyrighted material somewhere deep on youtube) but i don't think that it is so widespread.

Minors are 100% uploading to popular porn subreddits. There might not be a specific r/jailbait any more(and there probably is), but it's definetely still happening. They just have "18" in the title now.

Joseph Kennedy did not make his fortune from bootlegging. That's an urban legend, presumably begun by contemporary detractors. He did make some moves in the liquor business when it became evident prohibition was about to end, but that wasn't where most of his money came from either. He was an investor in stocks, commodities, real estate, and movie studios.

Payment processors that large should be considered utilities at this point.

They are not official police but they do some sort of moral police to the businesses they don't like. Their antics and policies are mostly unclear and seem random.

Today they block a porn site tomorrow they block you - and what can you do?

Just like you cannot do business without a bank account, you cannot host a site without a payment processor. If the business is legal: then the processor should be forced to support it. If the business is illegal - then it is the prosecutors' and police job to close it.

As usual this censorship is explained "as made for the good of children".
