In this case there was no shortage of volunteers, and the larger the trial the faster it can reach a certain level of confidence in a result. 2. No. Already had covid, was dizzy for like a day or two and breathing was a little tougher than normal. Doubt I could get sick again or that it would be much of an inconvenience if I did.

The vaccine, while probably fine, seems like more of a wildcard to me. It seems like a low-probability lottery ticket to bad news, whereas COVID seems like a lower-probability lottery ticket to bad news.
(Of course, the government may force the issue. I hope not, though. My body, my choice and all that.)
