You'll have to discuss this with our internal recruiters after submitting an application. When I joined, it was not an option, but that was before Covid-19 and our switch to WFH.

Does the pay max out at GS-15 like USDS?

Yes it does! But, it's hard to put a dollar amount on the impact and feels you get doing public service. The benefits are great and the locality pay is something to consider as well.
