They don't, they just charge you out of the nose for everything, "enterprise pricing".

Heh, I was hoping for the same, but in reality I get sleep issues quite often, subpar battery life, and overall unpolished experience... on AMD with Ubuntu.

Which AMD cpu was this? And what version of Ubuntu were you running?

The X, P, and T series Thinkpads have 2k and 4k options depending on the model. The 4k options in particular are extremely nice with excellent color gamut.

Are you running macOS on your thinkpads? Do you have details on how to do so? Super curious if that’s the case.

Are you sure about that number, because that seems.. rather low.

Sandy Bridge era T420 and X220 accepted 16GB. Just double capacity after 9 years isn't that impressive, is it?

There are 32GB DDR4 SODIMMS in the market.

USB-C transfers power as well. Are you really using cds and floppies in the year of our lord 2020, or are you just strawmanning?

Burning cds/dvds is still a very convenient and dense affordable form of offline storage for backups and/or content hoarding.

This. I tried using a Dell XPS and a Thinkpad as replacement to Macbook. But had to return both because I just can't get used to any other display after using Retina display, specially because the laptop is my TV as well.
