The real question is the kind of liability you take on when running a tor node on a machine that "belongs" to you (for some definition of belong). Another is to find a place that will agree to power your machine and allow it to hook in to the ethernet if it runs a tor node. At any rate, running a tor node isn't as simple as running apt-get.
Is it possible to operate a TOR node through a corporate entity? The corporation assumes liability as does insurance.

You can do this in Firefox. Open about:config and search "dotonion". Toggle it. The other arrangements are left up to you.
But this will need you to start the Tor deamon separately and configure the two I guess? Not as simple as just using Tor browser, or a Tor tab in Brave...

You can do this! There exist several tor2web proxies that allow you to do this. Simply go to tor_url.onion.ws in a regular browser. Keep in mind that this only protects publishers, not those accessing the website. More info: https://www.tor2web.org/

Dark web isn't inherently negative though, is it? It's not like they called it pedo-web.
It's very negative.
That's why news and public service actors with global ambitions launching onion services is likely a huge net gain in the long run.

No, you're thinking of Fox News & Daily Mail. Sure, there is some criticism of BBC news, but I don't think you could ever compare it to the junk filled propaganda machine that is RT.

Yes I understand that. 1 - Can the same not be achieved via VPN usage? 2 - Can TOR browsers not already access the BBC in the "clearnet"? 3 - Why do I, as a UK resident, have to provide money so that someone in Vietnam can access our state news?
If you access BBC News from outside the UK you'll notice that it has advertising. I don't know how much of the cost of international news this offsets, but it will help.
But the more important answer is that everyone benefits if accurate and unbiased news is available to all. The cost of running an onion site is negligible. The cost of international news (and the World Service etc.) is not, but is definitely worth it (and as pointed out elsewhere, not actually paid for by the licence fee).

#150i’m not sure why. if someone is already using the tor network, presumably they could use it to bypass censorship to access the clearnet bbc site.
Because so much of the bbc website is http, today, in 2019. At least you now get TLS between the browser and the bbc server. Accessing bbc over Tor normally leaks cleartext http to the exit nodes.
