“You are about to hit a solid object. Stop.” Why can’t we solve the most basic use case? We don’t have the sensors and it’s all done with cameras?
Too many false positives; sensors would only be usable for cars that moved a few km/h at most. Even if you're driving normally, various other objects appear in your path all the time.
We clearly don't have an epidemic of cars with forward collision warning systems slamming on their brakes for no reason, so those systems must be able to deal with the false positives somehow.
