Why do people attempt suicide after this sort of ordeal? Is there any reasoning or studies that talk about this?
Most of the suicides are committed when a person starts believing suicide is the only way out. When a person has lost all reasons to live, and when he thinks there is nothing he can do, then he concludes suicide could be the only next natural act under his control.
There are times when I think about my death.
I sometimes think my suicide will be the next big life event. A event, if I had more financial resources, might be less painful, or anxiety producing?
I've been seeing a Psychiatrist for years.
From what I gather, from years of sitting eight feet from the man, suicide has two reasons; the chemical one, and even though it's debated, I can tell he still knows their are physical shifts in brain chemicals that cause depression. Although, he's not the cheerleader for SSRI's, and the older tricyclics he used to be; I don't think he's throwing the baby out with the cliche. I truly believe he feels they work in some patients.
And then there's the situationl one. I'm more in the sisuational camp most days. Life without enough funds is just difficult. Along--with taking care of a loved one who seems oblivious to how bad things could get.
My hope is society/government makes some changes to the latter(welfare--yes the sware word in some circles of privilege, and denial.) Right now we need places that people can camp/shit/wash-up without getting booked into a county jail. The Therapy can wait. We need places for the Homeless, and those on the brink of loosing everything.
When you blow a gasket, and don't have the understanding family; it's just so difficult out there. I doesn't need to be--in such a priveleged society? They might not have wonder drugs, but they can at least price the basics for the needy?
Society is looking for someone to blame for The Opioid Crisis. What if the problem wasen't do to careless script writing, but just depression? Depression brought on by the stress of living in this great/modern selfish economy?
