It's pretty well known that Assange has a vendetta against Hillary Clinton. Just searching for Assange Clinton on Google brings up lots of articles on the subject.
To be fair, it's because Clinton and her staff have called both publicly and privately for him to be executed, extrajudicially if need be. I'd have a grudge too.

The whole story was prompted by a non-ironic tweet that their internet was cut off, so it fits.
That tweet could have been in response to a dead-mans switch being activated.

Yeah, the best way to cure a flu is to shoot yourself in the head.
Hillary => no change. Trump => change. Positive or negative? Who knows...
Granted, most of Trump's output is not even properly formed sentences, so maybe he's doing a malformed data denial-of-service attack on voters' senses?

It's unlawful for you to visit the Wikileaks site. https://mobile.twitter.com/wikileaks/status/7877498936496005...
Sarcasm aside. There is a caveat to the legality of classified materials, usually you must have been "entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of". Which alludes to the fact that you would first have to have been read in, or taken the material that you knew was classified. There is also a "requirement" to "knowingly" cause harm. I put these in quotes because the wording and the enforcement of that requir…
Interesting. Could you explain that more?

I don't know about the embassy but I enjoy the non-ironic claim that "The ambassador has not yet responded to emails."

Re: Wikileaks: Julian Assange's internet access 'cut'
#428Instead of jumping on this as a giant conspiracy, it might be worth considering that it's just that his internet went down. I mean, until there is actual evidence that Hillary Clinton[1] deployed a highly trained collection of seals (the animal, not the US military contingent) to cut through his tube wires in the death of the night and then pelt across hide park and hide in the serpentine, perhaps we should just cons…
1/ Unless you have dumped massive datasets of classified USG data I fail to see how your situation is similar to Assange's. What might be coincidental for you is not when it comes to JA. 2/ Since you post on HN I guess you sure understand that there is no need to alter the physical layer if you want to ostracize a subnetwork from the Internet.
Also, he's not the only person running Wikileaks , he's mostly the public persona, but there are other people who are not stuck in an embassy right?

Jokes aside, I found myself on the site for the first time ever last week... Didn't want to fuck with that shit during my service or while holding a clearance. But question... While I no longer have a clearance, I am still eligible for a clearance if I need it within the next few years... Should I be concerned?

If only his internet access was cut, he may still have been able to communicate via phone or other means to alert someone to post that tweet.
