I think iOS has this application caching issue. Apps seem to always be caching data to the storage, but there is no option to erase, or remove it as needed.

You can barely put a day's worth of music on your phone and you cannot always stream via services like Spotify. I have an iPhone 4s that is "the kids phone" for my two-year old so she can watch YouTube and Netflix. I'd love to upgrade that so I could put all the other movies she likes on there as well.

It's also used for emergency phone calls. When 911 calls are made, the barometric pressure is also relayed to give the emergency operators an idea of how high someone is, which is especially useful if the call is made from inside a building.

I don't think this counts, as the Lightning connector retained the same functionality as the 30-pin connector. Sure, you can't connect old 30-pin cables or accessories without an adapter, but no functionality was lost.

I wonder how well this will work: wife has an iPhone 5C but hates it because it's an 8GB model. Facebook already takes up 500MB with its caches and she's constantly removing apps. Pictures also take up room - with Photo Stream on there are 4 copies of each pic on your phone...

I bought the phone with the largest battery and thus the longest battery life and the fewest "Oh, shit" moments when I'm traveling to conferences or out on my mountain bike. The phone with the largest battery happened to have a larger screen glued to its back. I'm sure I'm representative of a market segment, although possibly not the only market segment.
I could carry an external battery like many people but I've watched them (a) forget the cable (b) forget the battery (c) forget to charge the battery. Having a battery cases solves all those. No cable needed, no chance to forget it (well except forgetting the entire phone) and no forgetting to charge since it charging one charges both.
It does make the phone larger, thicker, heavier and means I can't have one of the sexier cases but I choose usefulness over looks for this situation
No 3D touch is a very odd fragmentation. You'd think they'd want to shore up their devices to be completely compatible with this across the spectrum to motivate developers to use it as a key part of their UX. Now when only X So your apps have to optionally use 3D Touch, Pencil, adaptive layout, fingerprint, and several other interactions that only cover fractions of their hardware line.
And it is half-baked in the sense that when I do activate 3D Touch, it’s usually by accident. It is almost the same gesture as deleting apps on the home screen! I go to delete an app, press-and-hold a little too long and instead of squiggly icons with delete buttons I get...a menu? And usually I get that the 2nd time I try, too.
Force-touch badly needs something to make it obvious, and they need to work a lot harder on making it not overlap with anything else. Ironically, for an interface that loves gratuitous animation, force-touchable objects might have made a lot more sense with some fancy appearance or animation and they have none.

Agreed. My 5S broke over winter, 4.7" was too big as a replacement. I tested a 6 in my jeans pocket and it felt odd to me. I immediately purchased another 5S instead. Looking forward to a SE.
I could have upgraded a few months ago but held out as rumours of this phone have been around for awhile. I'll be happy to upgrade as I suspect the iPhone 7 will be a 4.7 or 5.5 and those are just too big for me.
