My thoughts are similar - they dont have one united vision about who they are, but they do have several successful internet properties - finance, sport, tumblr, flickr and more. It seems clear now that marissa is not capable to completely transform the company, but by doing incremental optimalization they can do just fine over time.

Almost every major tech company is always hiring. But the process of ACTUALLY HIRING is a different story. Some company does it quick, even if there's a layoff. I chatted with a Yahoo engineer at a college career fair a few years back and passed him my resume. A few weeks later, I got an email saying they were interested in interviewing me. I sent them my availability. A full year later, they emailed me on that same email chain asking for my phone/skype information to conduct an interview. Needless to say, I told them thanks but no thanks.

Nice. Anyone staying at Yahoo despite a continuous, management-driven, downward spiral was already laying themselves off. Just a matter of time. That was before she even entered the picture. I respected her attempt to rescue one of the greats of the Old Web but it was beyond salvage. Now, it will be streamlined, gutted, and sold most likely. As financial management wanted all along...

finance.yahoo.com is pretty decent, too. Based on ghostery blinken, they're not as pathological in their tracking as some other major sites.

Everyone uses Yahoo finance and watches yahoo stock go down, what irony.
