The next release of Debian should have a police brutality protest day built in that just shows a message about Ian's final tweets and ways to help the situation with the police, and won't do anything else all day.

It's a good bet that, when a young person in a highly-developed country dies and the announcements about them do not give a cause of death, they killed themselves. Given that he was white and had announced an intention to kill himself the night before, it's almost an open-and-shut case.
There is an alternative idea that the police accidentally killed him and are trying to make it look like a suicide. They probably had his phone after all. I'd like to see if twitter can get up geocoded info on where those tweets were sent from... If it's the police station rather than Mr Murdock's house... What happens in a case like this where the police are possibly suspects in a death?
That's pretty conspiratorial. I think its a safe bet your alternative idea is not anything like what happened. Do we even know if there were any police. It's a very sad situation but there is no information and not clear if there is any investigation planned.

First RIP Ian. Struggles with society and interacting with people is a true problem with developers/founders, and something I've personally struggled with. Head injury by police? Murder by police? Your absolutly feeding into the paranoid developer complex. Read his tweets on the PasteBin ( http://pastebin.com/dX3VSPkM ). Seems like he was under the influence during this.
I think you're being pretty naive, but let's both make a note to revisit this later when more evidence is available.

Not clear. I will say that it's kind of troubling that he was apparently arrested for banging on his neighbor's door. Any more info as to the circumstances?
