It's expensive to generate all that LLM slop, and since it's a loss leader, someone else gotta pay for it.
There's Frigate, which is incredible for webcams. Amazing. But I don't think it deals with the bell itself. But I suspect many have a separate chime unit that would at least work ok, of you aren't trying to also bring and bodge Home-Assistant or whatnot into the mix too.
There's so many nice usable bits of hardware out there for video doorbells. Ezviz, Amcrest, Aqara, Reolink. There's Frigate, which is incredible for webcams. Amazing. Do you happen to have similar list for thermostats? I’m using a Nest and would like to get that off Google as well.
