What do you think about electromagnetic induction chargers? If a startup develops a system that can recharge devices from a few meters away, it will instantly become a million-dollar company.

#2Induction charging is highly inefficient and the wasted energy has to be expended somehow. If traditional Qi chargers are 50-60% efficient under ideal conditions, imagine how much heat would radiate from a system with 10-5% efficiency. You'd practically be building a human-scale microwave oven past a certain point.

#3https://stuffyoushouldknow.com/episodes/ has an episode "Wireless Electricity" (February 29, 2024) discussing the history and current progress. Could be a billion dollar company but you'd need customers who pay magnitudes as much for electricity.
