They also don't set wages, prices in stores or prices at the pump yet they keep acting as if they do and people keep voting as if they do.

No president of either party deserves much direct credit for job creation or blame for job loss, except maybe Federal jobs. This is part of the egregious "CEO in Chief" mythology the US really needs to move past.
