#3It certainly sounds like you are posting to HN primarily for promotion of your own site and that the system is correctly preventing you from doing so. I'd be interested to know how it decides to block this particular site, though!

#5If you turn on the "showdead" flag you will see there are many sad people who keep posting posts from their blog and no other web site and are hellbanned and don't seem to know it.
There are people who actually use Hacker News on a regular basis and then there are the people who invaded from some place like
https://villains.fandom.com/wiki/Boskone
who didn't need Hacker News at all until the day that their bosses' boss boss told their bosses's boss to tell their boss to tell you to post a link to HN and then they are quite shocked to find they're treated differently from people who regularly use the site.

#6A lot of people don't seem to understand that Hacker News is a community. In doing so, we can help people get the feedback they desire the HN crowd without assuming they are "sad people" just because they don't know our somewhat unique culture round these parts.

#7From the guidelines you link, it says "Please don't use HN primarily for promotion. It's ok to post your own stuff part of the time, but the primary use of the site should be for curiosity." It certainly sounds like you are posting to HN primarily for promotion of your own site and that the system is correctly preventing you from doing so. I'd be interested to know how it decides to block this particular site, though…

#8There are karma thresholds that unlock certain features, an example being able to downvote a comment. There might be some mechanism in place that prevents new (or not active yet) users from submitting URLs. You had no prior comments or submissions here and also had not gained any karma yet. Maybe try again after participating here for a while. You can find undocumented features of HN here: https://github.com/minimaxi…
I must admit, I'm not fully familiar with the hidden culture of Hacker News, and I apologize if my initial engagement seemed to overlook certain norms. I'm eager to become more involved in the community and look forward to participating in discussions here. Thanks again for the guidance!

I realize now that I may have overlooked the crucial elements of participation and engagement that define the HN community. Moving forward, I am committed to better understanding and respecting the dynamics here. Thanks again for shedding light on this aspect, and I look forward to being a more active and respectful member of this community.

You're not wrong, but I try to assume that people who come here for self-promotion just need to be educated on the right way to do things. A new account posting their new product as a "Show HN:" is often accepted, so I recommend people try that.
