Is a job as Implementation Specialist a good entry to the software/dev market?

I am quite far into an interview procedure with a SaaS company. They are looking for an Implementation specialist, mainly fetching data in CSV, XML and JSON format and then convert that into a responsive front end UI with some corresponding server side actions.

The salary is roughly equal to a junior front end dev position. I understand that front end juniors are expected to become mediors after a while.

I wonder if the job at this SaaS has the same growth potential or if it's a dead end with the risk of near future redundancy.

This would be a career direction change for me, I currently work in the PSP/payments sector and I see the writing on the wall, many jobs in my field will become redundant sooner or later.

I know that some HR staff, hiring managers, start up owners and partners are reading this board, however I would value everyone's opinion and input.
