#2I question buzzfeed’s purposeful characterization as “angry”. We know “angry”-something is a dogwhistle. They should be better than using dog whistles when discussing grievances by a sizable population which feels like it’s sidelined, censored and worse in the workplace. This is right out of 50s red scare or Soviet politicking.
How does a large corp. like Google get away with having a sizeable portion of its workforce feel unsafe to disclose their politics and have conversations around that?
It’s stunning that people feel like they have to keep their political leanings secret lest their job of career bd jeopardized.
Most of these people are normal right-leaning republican types. They’re being painted unflatteringly as ultra right in order to demonize them.

It’s not stunning at all. It’s completely common throughout history. Ask a labor organizer sometime about it.
The only stunning thing is that we’ve finally gotten to the point where the political beliefs of done rich white men (my own population fwiw) are not so privileged as to prevent any level of judgement. Even the ridiculously low stakes outlined here.

They did. The result is Gab and Voat which are so overrun with hate and fear porn and trolls they're unusable to people who don't like to be immersed in such things.

Historically yes. But this is Google, a “liberal” company which ostensibly is open and accepting or at least tolerant to all?
