Long story short: I am 40, lots of software engineering and project management experience, freelancing (calling it consulting, though).
As much as I love programming and I am getting quite good clients via referrals, I really need to limit writing code, because working from home, having kids and getting older, I just can't keep up the pace of work to keep the income at a sensible level, not to mention increasing it.
Would anyone be willing to share a story of a successful exit from a freelance live, or getting on a "higher level"?
