#3Does it make you a defender of the liberal west to take in so many foreign refugees (without the necessary resources for cultural and economic assimilation) that your citizens revolt and move to far right nationalist parties? Because that is what's likely to happen in Germany and France, largely thanks to Merkel. I believe she had good intentions but the outcome could be disastrous.

Former NYT writer says, "It was a shock on arriving at the New York Times in 2004, as the paper’s movie editor, to realize that its editorial dynamic was essentially the reverse.
