That's malicious and I think this is scamming from the literal money (you didn't do anything wrong, you executed one command and they scammed you out of the fair usage you paid for). Please raise the ticket or at least GitHub issue for visibility. Sooner or later some sort of complaint to the relevant trade authority should happen - this is a scam operation at this point.

No. Hanlon's razor applies here.

It was implemented deliberately, it triggers on the most innocuous thing, it scams the user from the money.

It's not the stupidity.

'we know we sold you 50 gallons of gas, but you are only allowed to use 40 gallons.'

Nobody ever uses more than 40 gallons though. So if you do, you're abusing the system.

If I'm making a lot of short journeys in the heavy traffic I'm using a lot more than someone who commutes 20 miles on the quiet country roads.

Your assumption that having higher use is abuse is malicious and wrong.

It may be uncommon but it's as legitimate as someone's else.

Drafting email responses for work, organizing talking points for upcoming meetings based on email and doc context. Creating tickets for work tracking. Anything you can do with claude code and mcps pretty much.

None of those things require an always on token burner. I'm not trying to be rude, but do you think that's the only way to present relevant information to an LLM or something? It's literally the least efficient way to do it.

I'm not leaving boody traps. I have the right to talk about OpenClaw or even to write the anti antropic string. I didn't delete you token usage or charge you extra boxes. Antropic did. If tomorrow Antropic decide to charge you extra if you interact with someone who talked badly about them, I'm still in my right to talk shit about them.

This is the same logic of 'not a booby trap' booby trap,s which sometimes do work out in the favor of the one setting them if they weren't too open about it. If your commit message is that you are talking about OpenClaw just to booby trap your repo, then I suspect it wouldn't fly, where as if you gave it some plausible deniability, a lawyer would be able to get any suit or charges dismissed. This is all under the ass…

If someone doesn't want you to use AI on their repository, they state it. And if they want to "booby trap" (Antropic logic), them it's they right, you have been warned.

I can't see how you rights to use AI is prevalent on the right of anybody to write the string "OpenClaw" or any string forbidden by your AI provider.

Seriously, if the author hides it and trick your AI agent to check it, well maybe. But otherwise, it's not even a question.

> Anthropic is a public benefit corporation which limits liability to shareholders What does this have to do with their ethics? This seems irrelevant unless your understanding of ethics ends at fiduciary duty to investors.

It's the opposite. Parent comment was saying they must be unethical due to their duty to investors. As a public benefit corporation, they can take ethics into account even if it harms shareholders. The extent to which they do so is still up to them, as I understand it, but they aren't forced to be evil as parent was suggesting.

Ah, got you.

Podcasts (and video) are very low-throughput, low-density information channels. Essays and articles are superior. To demonstrate this, you can just compare the transcript of a typical podcast — even a high-quality, well-researched one — with a typical high-quality, well-researched blog post, essay, or journalistic article.

Sure, but the other angle is time investment. I only listen to podcasts sporadically but I can definitely see why people like it. Not as a substitute to reading but _in addition_ to reading. Listening to a podcast can be done while driving, or cooking, etc. It beats sitting in traffic and just listening to music (to some people).

I don't think multitasking and giving some of your attention to two people talking in conversation format is a great way to get information. There's a strong argument it's a recipe for getting misinformation, because you aren't verifying a single thing they say, and you may be going off the vibes of the host. An uncritical "Wow that's crazy" from podcast hosts is really all it takes for people to believe anything.

And some people are so socially isolated and exposed to so much toxicity online that just listening to two people talk like friends severely lowers their guard to misinformation.

Funny, for me Claude Code works perfectly, and I don't have to wait for hours, my prompts are usually done within minutes. And the results are most of the time great.

Have you run agents that work for hours? Doesn’t seem like it.

No, I don't know what you're doing if your agent is running for hours, but it sounds inefficient
