Could it be you are pushing your native app? Maybe for more control to advertising in your app, tracking, etc. Keep those nasty ad blockers out.

Also, I'm not sure about the personal attack and aggression. I only described search engine optimized ad spam pages with strong words. It was OP's decision to build this crap. Nobody, not even he himself argued against that these spam-pages have any value besides making him money.
I'm genuinely surprised that OP seems to not realize his past success story might be nothing to be proud of. I am also genuinely surprised that we, as a society tolerate this kind of behavior, and I actually wanted to have a discussion about this. The second post, I answered his question how I think we should deal with that and unfortunately mobbing is the only way I can think of. Again, I was open for discussion and put in alot of "I'm not sure, this is how it looks from my view" words. In the third post I tried to clarify that it's the seo ad - fueled, and that I consider that similar to littering with profit, which I guess is illegal in most countries.
A day later it still looks to me like I made a few very reasonable arguments. But sadly very little debate has been going on besides the typical low effort partisan comments. On that note, I'd like to point out that the karma system very much encourages these partisan comments, cause unfortunately solid argument are usually received much worse than snarky remarks.

The guidelines apply no matter the topic; if it weren't that way, there'd be no point having them. We're here for curious conversation. Curmudgeonliness, fulmination and generic tangents are specifically off-limits here, and berating someone over personal, lawful decisions about projects and investments breaks the first rule of HN comments, which is to be kind .
Kindness doesn't mean we should only acclaim people, and only comments on what they are asking feedback on. That yes-man attitude is all but kind to my mind.
I'm human being, I can make errors, but recommending people to step back on what they do, I don't think it is an error in general; and I'm glad when people come to me and tell me to do so.
It's easy to be trapped into a narrow view (including for me, to be perfectly clear). Arbitrary self censorship won't help humanity to make progresses on that matter, that's a strong opinion of mine. I'm open to academic or other social studies that would support a different or even more nuanced account on the matter.
Random idea: What if all the activity notifications arrived at the same time, eg 8pm every day? If any interactions depend on people being synchronously online together, notifications could be a strong way to make those features work when people don't have a ton of friends on this yet.

I'd imagine Friendster uses NFC. I developed a proof of concept of a tap-to-connect social network a couple of years ago which used NFC - on both phones you had to have the app open and press a button in the app to put it in both broadcast and receive mode, which seems like what is shown here.
