There, it's in mind; what can we do now to stop the big companies from making things worse? Individual accountability is important, but self-flagellation or (vicarious) shame because forces bigger than us are causing problems is a waste of energy (ha!).
Big companies don't produce pollution in a vacuum. Almost all of their pollution is a indirect consequence of our own consumption. Buying a ford F-150 and having a oversized server rack full of expensive hardware that generate a lot of pollution to be produces is a sure way not to stop big companies.
Responsible consumption is the first important step to stop big companies from making thing worse.
