Meta isn't known for having great customer support
That depends on who you think Meta’s customer is .

#362I think the product as shown in this marketing material with these examples falls squarely in the “nobody asked for this” territory of AI. At least with B2B AI there is a problem to be solved: reduce my labor costs and increase my business output. What’s happened here is that consumer technology is already solved, but companies like Meta are trying to jam AI technology into something that solves the non-problems that…
I'm not sure - it may as well be that regular consumers just don't realize they need this and will greatly benefit from it. My personal anecdote - we had a complex family travel in the summer, with 6 ppl and 6 separate flights booked (some multi-leg). SAS messed up on one booking - they decided to cancel the flight we had from Oslo, and rebooked us to an earlier date (2 days shift). That wouldn't work for the rest of…

Wow, well if the incorrigible Mark Zuckerberg himself says they say they put more work into data security! /s After everything meta has pulled over the last few decades, do you actually trust in CEO speeches like that?
CEO says something bad: "Look at what the CEO said!" CEO says something good: "you cant trust what he said, he's a CEO" Pick a lane please

Yes, of course. Wikipedia has a quick summary of the most popular networks ranked by monthly active users. Facebook is #1 and Meta owns three of the top five. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_popular_social_pl...
Those are self-reported numbers from 2023. Besides most likely being highly inflated, I think Facebook is on the decline.

Ha, tell me you don't have children without...
The average kid in an average suburban public school is not getting this amount of digital communication. If they are, they still aren't using a Google Calendar and are managing the complexity in much simpler ways (paper calendars)

Do you... code by copy pasting chatgpt web???
Yes! Though I mainly use it for one-shotting full files, so I'm not copying over small diffs. I did try copilot at some point in vscode, but after a week or so I felt like it was slowing me down. Something I knew would be a simple and quick change was now slow since I didn't have enough ownership of the code to do it quickly myself, and prompting for the change took longer than changing it manually if I had had full…

#370> Your personal data is safe and secure That's from the article. I can't think of anyone I'd trust less with my data than Meta. Well, thieves, I guess.
