That's actually how radio works! The stations are licensed by the government.
This is actually much better as there is no government involved -- this is just a private company doing what it wants with the software and hardware that it owns -- and you are not restricted by the government to use only their technology.

This kind of stuff gets out of hand very quickly.
It's obviously different than:

"I think so and so is a liar!"
Which is more mundane and obviously within bounds.

While it's incredibly useful to think about censorship in black and white real world is never that simple. Fundamental issue is that we live in a society where one person exercising his freedom of speech can infringe on freedoms of others. To demonstrate I will use an extreme example of a mob lynching incited by hate speech. There seems to be no way to prevent rights of a person being violated. I.E. you either must stop hate speech to prevent lynching or preserve free speech but allow lynching to go forward.

This is a great point that is not made often enough. The logical conclusion is that the de-platformed actors get mad enough that they start lashing out in criminal ways, doing stuff that gets them locked up or killed, or otherwise "de-platformed" in real life. #320People don’t seem to understand, censorship is a double edged sword. You never know who will be in charge years from now and will abuse those very same good intentioned laws & we end up a police state.
Why is there content to censor in the first place?
What has broken to cause that abhorrent content to exist (e.g. “shoot them all and let god decide what to do with them”)
Why have they lost the ability of civilised communication?
If that can be fixed or self-policed, the calls for censorship evaporate.
