Yes people do not want to return to office because of the darkening international situation and the growing disorder of American cities. What kind of journalist can seriously write that. Its like just adding words to sentences to meet the word count.
I think there’s some truth to it. And the article is an opinion piece.

I went to the only high school in my country which had lockers (it was mildly famous for it, being seen as an "American" trait) and I never had a locker because they were on a first come first served basis.
Why is it so hard for businesses or people to understand why people aren't that interested in returning to open-offices or other "modern" ways of warehousing workers? If they all had 1-2 person offices w/door, where knowledge workers could have the quiet and uninterrupted time to work, then you'd probably get some return. If, however, you're asking people to return to mayhem, where they have to use blinders and noise…
