#6If, however, you're asking people to return to mayhem, where they have to use blinders and noise-reducing headphones to think, you're crazy.

#8Why is it so hard for businesses or people to understand why people aren't that interested in returning to open-offices or other "modern" ways of warehousing workers? If they all had 1-2 person offices w/door, where knowledge workers could have the quiet and uninterrupted time to work, then you'd probably get some return. If, however, you're asking people to return to mayhem, where they have to use blinders and noise…

#9Yes people do not want to return to office because of the darkening international situation and the growing disorder of American cities. What kind of journalist can seriously write that. Its like just adding words to sentences to meet the word count.

#10Our main office is a drive a few hours away. Because of cost optimization, the building is in a less desirable part of town, and a few colleagues had to deal with crime on the way to work. On some days, predicted desk usage is above 100%, but management said that's OK because we'll spend our time in meeting rooms anyway, and we're supposed to empty our desk while we're in a meeting room. There's an endless amount of people shuffling back and forth, so if you're close to a door there is no way to have any concentration.
Seeing all this, why should I go back to my company building? To annoy the people sitting next to me who are not my team members anymore, by having full time meetings over the computer?
Thank god my managers are wise enough to say:this doesn't make sense, stay at home when necessary. But other teams are required to come back and they don't like it. Their bosses wonder why. I want to answer, they are hiding to try and get some work done, but you're not allowing them.
