I agree that law enforcement officers (and probably most public servants) do not have an expectation of privacy while on duty, however other people who get recorded do. The same thing happened in New Orleans after Katrina. Personally, I would have no problem with this as long as they logged the seized property correctly and provided means for the owners to retrieve their property at a later date.
