What am I missing here? I'm running "Version 102.11.0, first offered to channel users on May 10, 2023", and this is 13 versions ahead?

#192Anyone have an opinion on how Betterbird[0] compares to Thunderbird? I've installed it recently to circumvent a recent design change in Thunderbird but have a hard time assessing whether it's a worthwhile long-term alternative and a project worthy of support. [0] https://www.betterbird.eu/

I like how you conveniently left out that you're using a retina display until maybe your fifth post complaining about this. It's possible that none of the developers can afford to buy a $2000 laptop for testing. If the icons are obviously fuzzy on your machine, grab a screenshot, post a bug on the bug tracker, and let it be. I assume also that you are already a substantial monthly donor. If not, then I think all this…

Why are you having a go at someone who's just saying that the icons are fuzzy? If it's true it's true.

#194At this point, whenever something says "maximize your freedoms" and does not explain further, I think it is adding spyware or otherwise restricting my choices. Decades of US policy doublespeak, I guess...

#195The tone and level of entitlement of some comments is astonishing. Thunderbird is a free and open source tool, used by many (including me). The least we can do is to be a little nicer.
I love thunderbird but I don't understand their update schedules. I just now got an update (thought it would be to 115) but it's to 102 [1]. In the release notes of 102 it says it was made public only 5 days ago (and they say 115 is coming soon). And seemingly it can't update to 115? Am I missing something here? [1] https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/102.13.0/relea... [edit] okay it seems 115 is not yet re…
102.x has been out for a while.
When you receive an update to it depends on your distro or whether you have it installed as a Snap or Flatpak, etc.

#196Out of curiosity, what UI framework is used here? Electron? something else? EDIT: On 2nd thought I'm thinking this is XUL, Mozilla's sort of electron equivalent for an HTML/CSS UI?
They did use XULRunner in the past, but probably something else nowadays.
Re: Thunderbird 115
#197I just want to small, simple, fast, low memory browser that shows pages - I don't want 1,000,000 features and confusions.
Most of the "smart" features just seem to get in th way :(

#198JFC, the first image makes me turn mad. The UI was just fine, leave it alone. Long term (25y) of Mozilla Mail/Thunderbird user here.

One thing i've noticed is that the search bar is awful at finding anything, but the search tool (Ctrl+Shift+F) works much better.
Same here. I am exclusively using the quick filter box (Ctrl+Shift+K). I would like that the filter bar be never hidden.
Re: Thunderbird 115
#200Does it still crash with lots of mail? I have mail filters and get like 500 mail a day. Always crashes. It gives me the option to wait or kill the app. I blame the mbox folders.
