In many other countries, pain is treated without highly addictive opioids. Only in the US are they available at that scale.

Sometimes the world isn't as black and white as that. I was misdiagnosed as having IBS a couple of years ago, and became addicted to oxycontin, because the pain was no severe I couldn't go to work without it. At one point I had to have a colonoscopy, and I had to stop taking oxycontin 48 hours before the procedure, the withdrawl was hell. I remember being scatter brained, unable to focus on anything for more than a f…

How was going to work on the oxy? I had surgery a few months ago and stopped taking them after 2 days because I couldn't focus (or really think clearly) after taking a dose.
