"Physics of Semiconductor Devices" was a very useful and clearly-written book I read in the 90s - I must still have my copy somewhere. I didn't know the author had made such groundbreaking discoveries.

Surreal. I am currently studying this book for a university class, and the moment I take a break and check HN I see this.

Sure. I'm currently in the 1st year of a master's in nanotechnology. I'm taking courses in quantum physics, semiconductor physics, semiconductor devices and materials physics.

The semiconductor devices course follows Simon Sze's book almost 1:1. I've found Neamen's "Semiconductor Physics and Devices" and Kasap's "Principles of Electronic Materials and Devices" also excellent for additional explanations.
