i wonder why such posts kick it & attract readers. i don't see what anyone possibly could take from it except offence. trolling 2.0?

I thought it was sarcasm. He is showing people how their only real obstacle is complacency?

might be - but even if so, i don't see a point in beeing sarcastic as it does not provide anything. i don't know anything more than i did before. /2c

I'm sure someone here was slightly motivated by that. Not me though, since everything he said does not apply to me.

The author is using a rhetorical device called "humor". Many humans take pleasure from humorous statements.

It's Friday night, my brain stopped functioning correctly hours ago, I have no idea why my goddamn Javascript is blocking on a call to the backend, and I need comic relief?

More seriously, I think that's the way a lot of entrepreneurs think, and we sometimes need a slap in the back from each other. Something awful like this. Call me weak and boorish, but I shamelessly enjoyed it. It reminds of the life I am trying to avoid. The life of some relatives. The lives of friends with six and seven figure salaries with their trophy wives.
