What makes someone think that vibrant green text on a straight black background is a good idea? I just don't understand it. It's nearly unreadable.

Take a look at the stylesheet file and note the commented body entries for color / background-image.

I found the page completely readable, and the content interesting.

If you're that much of a snob, get a browser plugin and fix it yourself. The other 95% of us are tired of the complaints. The discussions here are supposed to be about the content.

He complained about the readability of the content, I think it's a valid complaint. You might be able to read it just fine, but you don't represent 100% of the human race.

Are you joking? Because I don't see how can you reply to my completely legitimate opinion with name-calling and pretend statistics about how you supposedly represent "95%" of HN and not be joking.
