BTW, it's not just for dual citizens. It's for all naturalized citizens also. In fact, you can lose your citizenship even if you're born in Canada, but can potentially qualify for some other country's citizenship through your parents. It's all levels of fucked up.

Yeah, I fall under one of the categories of people who can lose their citizenship.

I know I won't lose my citizenship. The people who this will be used against aren't the kind of people I want to share Canadian citizenship with. Say someone who was born here, and had another citizenship, joins ISIS, and isn't allowed back? I'm OK with that.

If I read that they died in the desert (this actually just happened to few guys from Canada), I'd shake the guy who pulled the trigger's hand.

yeah but it's left to the officer's discretion. Sure they say it's "intended" for this or that, but it can be used for anything. For example, if I protest a gas pipeline, I can be deemed a terrorist and my citizenship taken away without due process.

Protesting has a spectrum. Some of it is acceptable, some illegal (though not entirely unacceptable), some unacceptably illegal, and some forms of protest are terrorism.

Protesting a pipeline by mailing thousands of letters to an office, each from a different person, signed, and forwarding a petition to the government? Great! That's how direct democracy works. Get out there and make noise.

Protesting as in handcuffing themselves through a steel pipe, to the trees in the path of a new pipeline? Not terrorism, they'll just go to jail. Maybe they'll get a record, maybe not. Some people are OK with doing this, and it does send a strong message. I'll concede to you that I'm concerned that at some point, someone outside the law and government could convince (or coerce) someone into calling a few instances of this type of protest terrorism.

Protesting as in bombing a pipeline? Well... the way the laws are now, they'll probably just go to jail, unless they're receiving explosives, instruction or funding from a known terrorist group. If they're self-radicalized, they're going to be made an example of. If they're tied to a group, that's when we'll see more of bill c51 used.
