Sounds like a really exciting opportunity! However, I can't open the link to your website. I get stuck in a redirect loop on your careers page between m.smakets.com and smarkets.com. Client is mobile Safari, iOS 8, iPhone 5S.

I should mention that I get a copy of the email when you apply through this site, which asks the bare minimum necessary to get you into the pipeline. I don't get all of that information, but I do get at least your name and email address and I pass that information to the hiring manager, sometimes even walking over to them myself and saying, "LOOK AT THIS MAGNIFICENT PERSON. HIRE THEM. PLZ." Applying above is not a bl…

Well after interviewing for a different branch of IBM last month from one of these posts. I subsequently fell into a black hole of no responses. When one recruiter/ hiring manager is bad at their job, it looks bad for the whole company.

Are you considering european applicants? In the job description it's not clear, it says, if I have a VISA I can apply, but are you sponsoring the VISA?

Earlier quoted context omitted.

> BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science That is shutting out a very real group of extremely talented people. You can't teach initiative and passion.

For what they are doing, a very strong background in data structures and memory management is required, at least in so far as the code running on the rocket itself. Very few people learn that on their own, and even fewer learn it to the proficiency level they need.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and ask if you think that because you've had very, very few people without a degree apply for that kind of position? Your ad is ensuring that you'll never see the people that have learned it. As a self-taught programmer, I don't apply to listings with this requirement, even if I have everything else they're looking for, because it's just as much an indicator for me as it is for you. I just want you to be aware that you're excluding a very special niche group that could do wonders for any business.

We unfortunately can't support such things right now as a super small company, but we'd love to be able to in the future (or for this to become easier for all in the US, crosses fingers)

Applied beginning of March using the Netmedia site, which an employee sent me a link to. Application status is still "under review," though that specific Software Developer job is apparently "no longer available." Never heard a word from you guys. It's certainly not a problem or a point of frustration for me - I found a gig - but you should know that in conversation with other recent CSU grads you have kind of slid i…

Thanks for the candid feedback.

We've had a variety of CSU grads even this year come on board. That being said, there have been hiccups around things like the Netmedia site. That's one of the reasons we're seeking applications through alternative (better?) means like HN.

If you know people who have put IBM UrbanCode into the dustbin of unresponsive job postings, I'd absolutely encourage them to reach out to me.
