As a non-native speaker, isn't "guys" a correct term regardless of the gender?

I just wish people and companies would get over this "react(ive)" naming fetish. It reminds me of back in the late 90's when everything was Web-this and Web-that. It makes the distinctions really hard to google for. React, reactive, functional-reactive, etc. Overloading gets in the way of learning and progress.

Yes it is and him offering an apology for it was quite ridiculous to be honest.

Yep it's almost completely gender-neutral.

It's common, but not correct.

From Wiktionary:

Singularly, "guy" is a colloquialism for "male". Plurally, "guy" is a gender-neutral colloquialism for "everybody", or "people".

It's common, but not correct.

Given the fluidity of language, I'd say it's common enough that it is now correct as a gender-neutral address, like "folks" or :shudder: "y'all."
