I created an account a while ago, but it still just shows "we'll email you when your account is ready" - am I missing something?

We haven't fully launched yet - we've started sending out invites as we slowly scale up to everyone. But we just updated our site with more details about Gyroscope and are starting to accelerate that process now.

It's crazy to see how far @aprilzero has come with this. Actually bringing his idea to life, and turning it into a profitable business. There's a lesson to be learnt here in regards to working passionately and finishing your side-projects. Designers who can engineer are a step ahead of everyone else IMO.

Is it profitable?

Anyone recommend running apps? I use Nike Running but it doesn't integrate with this. Any recommendations between Strava and RunKeeper? (I run and will be getting into cycling shortly.) Thank you!!

Strava and RunKeeper are both amazing apps. I'd suggest to try them both and see which you prefer. It's a great time to be a runner!

"Your phone already has all the sensors you need. Wearables like Fitbit or Apple Watch make your data more accurate. ...

We integrate with all services you probably already use. Your page is automatically created without any manual entry. ...

Through the Facebook account, we automatically load your profile photo, cover photo, date of birth, email address and time zone. ... We also load your list of friends to help you easily find them on Gyroscope."

If you click "Sign up" it immediately tries to connect to your Facebook account. Don't click that button if you have Facebook applications enabled. It does this before displaying any terms of service.

The CEO is Anand Sharma. He also founded Charm Analytics, which, according to Crunchbase, has been folded into Gyroscope. He puts his own personal history on Gyroscope.[1] The company's address is 988 Fulton St #341 San Francisco, CA 94117, which is a 2 bed/2 bath condo.

This thing is for people who think Foursquare doesn't tell people enough about them.

Earlier quoted context omitted.

I think it's made by the same person.

I made the April Zero site by myself, but Gyroscope has been a massive undertaking with many people involved. @ericflo built most of the backend and API powering this, and some of our other friends like @mirashii and @wingfield also helped build some of the features. Our investors have also been a huge help, from @semil getting us great deals on our hosting last week to @jyri helping us with legal issues and @hiten b…

Ah okay. Well April Zero and this project look great. Congrats to your whole team for putting this together. The Animations look great as well.

Hey @aprilzero what was the backend stack you went with to build something like this? Just curious :)

We've split the backend into a service layer written in Go, a data fetching and processing layer also written in Go, and a web layer written in Python/Coffeescript. We use Kafka to connect a lot of the pieces together, and data is stored in PostgreSQL and Cassandra.

This is awesome. Congrats on the launch Flo :)
