Roman Polanski might finally be extradited to the USA

One piece of important information I have only seen the BBC mention so far is that the Polanski settled with the victim for an unknown amount in 1993.

For that reason him ending up avoiding sentencing and extradition now makes me uneasy; it sets a dangerous precedence for paying off criminal behaviour rather than face prison.

It isn't - unless the point is that he's hacked the law for 30 years
