Settle down, no need to sensationalize. That's not what even the OPs comment meant. Also, no, not everyone in India treats women like "chattel" (heck most of them worship them) and I'm pretty sure, neither does Satya.
Women's lack of equality in India, compared to the UK, are in general I'm afraid pretty appalling, when I was younger I nearly moved to India for a while. But my wife who is of Indian descent was extremely reluctant because of they way they are treated in India compared to the UK. The rights of women are minimal compared to men. That's just the reality.
On the other hand they are allowed out of the house unescorted, so as always it's a sliding scale.
Don't get me wrong India is home to some of the loveliest, kindest and gentlest people I have ever met. On average I'm pretty certain I'm a much less decent human being than the average Indian. It is a country which has many great qualities we can learn from over here, just not respect and equality for women. And that omission, like the caste system, is very saddening. But hey I have a huge log in my eye :-)

In the UK, people would typically say "I answered the question wrong" and consider it synonymous with "The answer I gave was wrong". Many Indians (that I know personally at least) seem to copy UK speech patterns more than US ones. I think you are reading more into this than is really there.
I'm sure you didn't mean anything by your choice of words but perhaps using "influenced by" or "derives from" would be better.

Without a doubt I wholeheartedly support programs at Microsoft and in the industry that bring more women into technology and close the pay gap. I believe men and women should get equal pay for equal work. And when it comes to career advice on getting a raise when you think it’s deserved, Maria’s advice was the right advice. If you think you deserve a raise, you should just ask. What more do you want?
Contrast that with what he actually said at the event: That might be one of the additional superpowers that women who don't ask for a raise have. It's good karma, it'll come back, because somebody's going to know "That's the kind of person that I want to trust. That's the kind of person that I want to really give more responsibility to."
There are literally hundereds of thousands of women coming here from India, China and working hand-in-hand with men. IN many many cases I can show you women earn more than men.
Problem is that liberal femi-nazi propaganda is flawed. You can't just take average of salary for women and compare it with men. There are depth and breadth of job categories and averaging out salaries does not work.
Read "Flaw of Averages" from Sam Savage of Stanford to better understand the game.
If you are really competent enough go change the jobs , work for startups, work for top 10. Who is stopping you ? Now , don't complain that companies don't hire you because you are a woman.
I feel that US is gradually following path of Scandinavian countries where women ultimately want to overpower men rather than seeking equality. Many feminazi movements are for free social welfare.
What about men who also quietly accept job and underpaid for years and years. Just look at many smart engineers still working ass-off after 10 yrs and getting 100k. Learn to look and live outside silicon valley.
One last point I want to bring is that if you create business hostile environment not only talent will run away but also companies will start to migrate. America has fought war after war for 20 years and I respect those who have lost lives , served the country.
When you create/join any movement don't think short term or instant gratification rather think long term social+political+economical impact for you and your children.
I feel bad that America is on downward spiral and unless some magic happens or you get another MLK ; its very hard to stop the demise.
