It is Arabic, for example "من بین الحوضین" on the beginning of the first line means "between the two tanks".

Yes, I know of him due to Tusi Couple, which I briefly read about when I was going through Copernicus's work.
The Tusi couple is like halfway down and the link right above it allows you to compare and contrast models.

#20I would like to add that the Persian, Arab and Turkish empires benefited greatly from Chinese, Indian, Roman and Greek math, technology and science that had been developed much earlier. This frequently gets glossed over or completely ignored.
