So Clarification that BBC isn't offering. @Famedgod is the psn botnet ddoser @Lizardsquad tried to take credit for attacks. @Famedgod tried to dox them @Lizardsquad calls in bomb threat (in attempt to validity their claim) Anonymous doxxes @lizardsquad Twitter user doxxes @famedgod Yup. Battle.net was hit all weekend; the effects were obvious for anyone trying to authenticate. It was not a hardcore DDoS; it just took a long line to get auth'd, at which point other Blizzard services seemed mostly OK -- some games were still affected, regardless of the auth services.

It seemed to get better by Sunday, where I can only recall one or two times having timeouts.

'doxing' is a term that has probably been around for at least 4-5 years. But yea. The point is that you are releasing 'documents' ('dox' being a slur on 'docs') about someone that removes that anonymity.

It's been in mainstream news for about that long, perhaps. The term itself is considerably older.

I did say "at least." :P

Still a DDoS, just one of the auth servers and not the game/chat servers.

From /u/legauge on reddit - http://imgur.com/a/eVR6h . The intensity of attack has gone down a bit but it was pretty cool to see this in realtime from - http://map.ipviking.com/

Wow, that ipviking site is somewhat entrancing to watch.

I find it curious that in one tweet, they state something along the lines of "you cannot find me, i am god". Attributing yourself to be or have any qualities of a god is a big no-no in Islam. Some sects will go as far as to proclaiming new prophets and whatnot, but calling yourself god is out of the question. These kids are definitely not ISIS, Muslim nor l33t.

Minister Wallace Fard would like a word.

Fair enough, but it goes back to at least the 90s from what I can remember. Most likely, it's even older.

Why? Nation of Islam may have the word "Islam" in it, but they're definitely not Muslim.
