Ouch. Not even the non-free version works around these flaws so? It looked promising...

I use a lot of Gmail, with one Yahoo Mail, but I use Gmail as more of a client for my server; all email is sent and received through my server.

Also, why aren't self-hosted options like Horde and Roundcube in this poll?

It doesn't bother you that they essentially charge you for POP3 access? That's what put me over the edge from Y! to Gmail - I wanted to use an email application (Thunderbird, actually) to manage multiple email accounts. And now I'm mostly using IMAP for better accessibility

I wasn't aware that POP3 wasn't offered on free accounts. Even so, it's only $15 per year, and the other features a paid account enables are worth it. Nothing wrong with paying for added value. :)
