I've considered doing this myself. Do we know what are the reasons for making it beta if Github did expect people to share it like this? What do you gain from being invited as a beta participant?

Were you on the internets when Gmail was announced?

Sharing files without the permission of the distributor is piracy, plain and simple. Just because GitHub is primarily an open-source distribution company does NOT mean it is OK to assist in the piracy of their products, beta or not.

Do you want nice things? Do you want better things? Do you want companies to take an idea and expand upon it, and ultimately try to make something that could make YOUR life / job / hobby easier? Then STOP with this ridiculous notion that you deserve to try out this beta of Atom. You'll wait in line for your invite like the rest of us. Until then, mind your damn manners.
