If the boss saw the videos where Scotty mocked him then he might be pissed--the binging clients will discover videos of him looking foolish and incompetent.
He'd start out pissed if that was the case. Usually, when you actually fire the guy, you feel better, not worse.

Seriously? This is (was?) a well-known series poking fun at office work. It's totally for real and he really was fired.
It would be pretty clever of them. Even we Hacker Newsers are apparently prone to rubbernecking enough to get this on the front page (really, guys?). The Bing references are subtle enough that it doesn't feel like product placement, but prominent enough that people talk about it (like many comments in this thread).

Having just watched the videos... this is what I can gleam of the situation. Scotty Iseri got an office job after freelancing for 7 years. Scotty decided to film himself goofing off at work. Or it's all staged -- the escalating anger in the boss comes off a bit too much.
Think about it. The boss KNOWS this guy is making fun of him in a very public way. He's calmed down (he thinks), he's going to have a really rational conversation with this guy. He's going to work with him... and then the guy starts smirking a bit, starts sort of mocking him a bit. The real anger comes out.. he gets pissed... and great drama ensues.
