#12Some good ones are
"I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it" attributed to Thomas Jefferson
One that resonates with me is this one by Cato:
"I think the first virtue is to restrain the tongue; he approaches nearest to gods who knows how to be silent, even though he is in the right."
(I used not to know when to shut up or stop defying authority, and my career paid for it)

#13This is my favorite: "If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable." - Seneca
Interesting to see that he was predated in his sentiments by such a long time

#14"In my stars I am above thee; but be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em."-- Twelfth Night.

#16If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants. - Isaac Newton

#17“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”
“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”
