One of the biggest problems with rape and abuse is the culture of silence. The feelings of shame and self-hate that are often integrally linked with being a victim in these cases often precludes them from -ever- coming to light.

I'm not commenting specifically about whatever happened with Arrington and his ex. However, I think it's important that victims of all walks of life feel safe to "come out" before it's too late to do anything about it.

> Mr. Scoble adds, “believe me, EVERYONE is talking about these charges behind private doors in Silicon Valley. I’m sure the charges are being looked into.”

Does that mean he's sure that a police report has been filed and due process is being followed or does he mean that people are gossiping really really hard?

I knew Arrington was quite arrogant, but I don't know (nor can I conclude) if he would be such a person. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. But one thing's for sure - If he did this, I want the same thing that happened to the recent Adria fiasco to him - He should be kicked out of tech and stripped out of his credibility and titles. Because this is much much worse than what the Adria fiasco was about.

I really, really wish this kind of Silicon-Valley-drama news would stay off HN.

Are you stupid? Arrington has a LOT to do with tech and it's because of people like you that this news has been unheard by many so far.

And this is not 'drama', this is about a REAL person's life on stake - imagine being the victim and not being able to speak up about this?

This is about a credible Tech entrepreneur and investor engage in forced sexual activity, who's been (possibly, as the article states) trying to hide this matter under the carpet.
