Where do you live and where did you look for jobs?
Poland. 90% of job offers seems to be PHP, Java, C#, C++. Python appears from time to time on a Django offer, but otherwise is seen as a scripting language for automating software tests.
I guess your best bet would have been moving to London or Cambridge (or perhaps Munich or so).
A Polish co-worker from my former job in Cambridge went back to Poland, and now `tele-commutes' to Cambridge. He's doing Haskell.
