#2Either way it's sad to see this service go. The guy seems nice and provided a good service, but clearly he's not going to spend a bunch of his own time and money if it's not rewarding anymore.

#7The dumbest thing about this is that monetizing Twitter is trivial, without changing anything else. Just put occassional and obvious ads in our streams, and charge us to upgrade to see an ad-free steam.

Obviously useful, obviously valuable.
Instead....well, I don't really know where they're going, and I don't think they do either.

#10Once again I'm just sad to see the continued erosion from the awesomeness that was Twitter. Twitter are killing off the good and magnifying the bad, all in the pursuit of goals that seem to be forcing a continuous decrease in the quality of end user experiences. On the other hand, that is the status quo of the web (cf. AdBlock) and it mostly works.
